Light the tRAIL for Art!!

Series of bike rides bring glowing fun to the Raccoon River Valley Trail

Waukee, Iowa (April 12, 2014) — After a long winter, we’re ready to head for the trails! Grab your bike and Light the tRAIL with a series of Friday night fun rides on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Throughout the summer, riders will become art in motion by lighting their bikes with glow sticks, multi-colored bike lights and more! The glowing group will depart after sundown from the Rendezvous Lounge in Adel or the Longest Yard in Dallas Center and ride to Mickey’s Irish Pub in Waukee.

Riders can enjoy a tasty dinner and drinks at Rendezvous Lounge or the Longest Yard before joining their colorful compatriots on the ride back to Waukee. There, we’ll announce contest winners and have the opportunity to enjoy drinks with friends— maybe even brave Mickey’s karaoke stage.

In addition to honoring the memory of local bike enthusiast, Jack Jordison, we’re raising money to support an exciting new public art installation at the Waukee Trailhead. Our fundraising goal is $15,000 to support installation of the Waukee Railroad Pergola. The project will bring area history to life through its railroad inspired design and will provide a gathering place for community members.
