The Iowa Bicycle Coalition is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to lead our organization as the Executive Director. We are seeking an exceptional individual with a passion for bicycling and a strong commitment to promoting its benefits throughout Iowa.
As the Executive Director, you will be at the forefront of advancing our mission to make Iowa a bicycling haven. This is a unique chance to lead events, advocacy, legislative, and educational efforts across Iowa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a dedicated team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Promote the benefits of bicycling and sustainable transportation, advocating for safer and more enjoyable bicycling experiences across Iowa.
- Lead advocacy and legislative initiatives, spearheading transformative efforts to influence public policy.
- Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with government, civic, and business leaders.
- Secure and shepherd funding from diverse sources to support our programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to our mission and a deep understanding of bicycling’s impact on transportation.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate our mission and ideas to diverse stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in advocacy, including building coalitions and executing diverse advocacy strategies.
- Strong track record of fundraising from various sources, driving significant financial support.
- Familiarity with Iowa’s government structure and legislative engagement, facilitating effective legislative leadership.
