The third annual BACooN ride — “BACooN Ride Tr3s,” is scheduled for Saturday, June 18. The ride is sponsored by the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival, the Iowa Bicycle Coalition and the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.
The 71-mile Raccoon River Valley Trail loop takes riders from Waukee through towns like Redfield, Panora, Jamaica, Perry and back again. As the starting point for the ride, Waukee hosts a RAGBRAI-style party the night before in Centennial Park.
The pre-party will feature music, mouth-watering bacon delicacies and a beer garden featuring local and national brews.
