Education
Hold a kick-off meeting and invite parents and neighbors to come and learn about safe routes to school and the programs or events that your school is hosting. Include education on walking and biking safety skills and school policies, but keep it fun and engaging.
Educate children on proper walking and biking safety skills including where and how to walk or ride your bike and cross the street. Educating students can be done in a regular classroom setting in any subject or outside on a sunny day during PE class or after school.
SRTS Background Information!
Use these supplementary materials for background on Safe Routes to School program and it's benefits. These materials can be used at kick-off meetings, as backpack mail, or use it any other creative way you can!
