Awareness
The Iowa Bicycle Coalition working to raise
awareness of the rights and safety of bicyclists on the roads.
Our current tools include a presentation to drivers education
students, a chapter in the Iowa Drivers Manual, questions on the Iowa
Drivers Exam, and the Share The Road License Plate.
Drivers Education Presentation
The
Iowa Legislature enacted a law requiring bicycle and motorcycle
awareness be taught in Drivers Education courses. The Iowa DOT
created a multimedia presentation and instructor guide to assist the
in-car and classroom drivers education instructors. The course
was based upon the League of American Bicyclists' Motorist Education
